Now that my project with Imagination Library is over, Megan and I have decided to pair up again to work on a new project. Unlike our last one, this is a brand new project so we have to start from scratch. The name of our project is called Senior Super Fans. We plan to take members from Woodland Terrace; which is the senior living home in New Palestine, and take them to athletic events at the high school. The goal is to allow seniors get to joy from new connections, relationships and fun events to look forward to. With this we also plan for student athletes to gain valuable experiences by being able to connect with seniors at Woodland Terrace. To start off our project we plan on going over to Woodland Terrace bonding with the members there at various events such as their craft night and their fall festival.
On a game night, we plan on having Woodland Terrace use their buses and bring some members to some of our sporting events. At the games we plan to create and designate a "Senior Super Fan" section for them to sit in. Everyone who comes will either get a t-shirt or throw towel that will help unify them. We also plan on creating a hospitality crew that will help with seating, refreshments, and just "hanging out" with the members from Woodland Terrace during the game. I am very excited to see where this project goes. I believe it has a lot of potential!!
